It is important to market yourself because marketing yourself is building your personal brand. You will have a lot of benefits if you build a brand of yourself. For example, if you have a strong personal brand, people are more likely to contact you and make friend with you. The process of marketing yourself also adds value to you. For example,  there are two guys. They have same level of abilities and skills in one area. The only difference between them is one has a strong personal image as an expert in that area, the other one does not have a online profile. 1. I am taking this class because my major at UCR is marketing. I am really interested in how to do social media marketing. I do not have a lot of knowledge in this area. 2. I hope that after taking this class, I know how to market myself on social media. I can learn more about how to use social media as marketing tool and become a good marketer. I wish I am able to be an expert in social marketing after taking the class. I can also do social media marketing for my own business. Right now, I hire a expert do marketing for my company.
